A. Vacation destinations. Những nơi đi nghỉ.

1. Listen and repeat. Then practice the dialogue with a partner. Nghe và lặp lại. Rồi tập đối thoại với bạn.
 

Ba: What are you going to do this summer vacation?	Bạn định sẽ làm gì vào mùa hè này?
Lan: I am going to visit Hue.	Tôi sẽ đi thăm Huế.
Ba: Where are you going to stay?	Bạn sẽ ở lại đâu?
Lan: I’m going to stay with my aunt and uncle.	Tôi sẽ ở lại. nhà cô chú tôi.
Ba: How long are you going to stay?	Bạn sẽ ở lại bao lâu?
Lan: For a week.	Một tuần.
Ba: What are you going to do in Hue?	Bạn sẽ làm gì ở Huế?
Lan: I am going to visit the citadel.	Tôi sẽ đi thăm hoàng thành.

2. Answer then write the answers in your exercise book. Trả lời rồi viết câu trả lời vào vở bài tập.
 

a) What is Lan going  to do? She’s going to visit Huế.	Lan định sẽ làm gì? Bạn ấy sẽ đi thăm Huế.
b) Where is she going to stay? She’s going to stay with her aunt and uncle.	Bạn ấy sẽ ở lại đâu? Bạn ấy sẽ ở lại nhà cô chú của bạn ấy.
c) How long is she going to stay? She’s going to stay for one week.	Bạn ấy sẽ ở lại bao lâu? Bạn ấy sẽ ở lại một tuần.
d) What is she going to do? She’s going to visit the Citadel.	Bạn ấy sẽ làm gì? Bạn ấy sẽ đi thăm Hoàng thành.

3. Write. Viết. Soạn một đối thoại với bạn mình. Viết đối thoại này vào vở.
 

What are you going to do this summer vacation? I’m going to visit Hạ Long Bay. Where are you going to stay? I’m going to stay in a hotel. How long are you going to stay? I’m going to stay for two weeks. What are you going to do? I’m going to visit the beach and swim.

Bạn sẽ làm gì vào mùa hè này?   Tôi sẽ đi thăm Vịnh Hạ Long. Bạn định sẽ ở lại đâu? Tôi sẽ ở lại tại một khách sạn. Bạn định sẽ ở lại trong bao lâu? Tôi sẽ ở lại trong hai tuần. Bạn sẽ làm gì? Tôi sẽ đi thăm bãi tắm và sẽ tắm biển.

4. Listen and read. Nghe và đọc.
 

Phuong and Mai are going on vacation this summer. First, they are going to visit Ha Long Bay for two days. They are going to stay with their uncle and aunt. Then they are going to stay in a hotel in Ha Noi for three days. They are going to see Ngoe Son Temple. Next, they are going to visit friends in Hue for two days. They are going to see the Citadel. After that, they are going to stay at a friend’s house in Nha Trang for three days. Finally, they are going to stay with their grandmother and grandfather in Ho Chi Minh City for a week.

Phương và Mai sẽ đi nghỉ vào mùa hè này. Trước hết, họ sẽ đi thăm Vịnh Hạ Long trong hai ngày. Họ sẽ ở lại nhà cô chú của họ. Rồi họ sẽ ở lại tại một khách sạn ở Hà Nội trong ba ngày. Họ sẽ đi thăm đền Ngọc Sơn. Tiếp theo họ sẽ đi thăm bạn bè ở Huế trong hai ngày. Họ sẽ đi thăm Hoàng thành Sau đó, họ sẽ ở lại nhà một người bạn ở Nha Trang trong ba ngày. Cuối cùng, họ sẽ ở lại nhà ông bà của họ ở thành phố Hồ Chí Minh trong một tuần.

5. Practice. Luyện tập.

Make a table of notes about the five different places Phuong and Mai are going to visit in their vacation. Use these headings: Lập một bảng ghi chú vào vở. Viết về năm nơi khác nhau mà Phương và Mai sẽ đi thăm. Dùng các tiêu đề sau:

+ Places they are going to visit:
- Hạ Long Bay, Ngoe Son Temple, the Citadel in Hue, Nha Trang Beach, Ho Chi Minh City

+ Where they are going to stay:
- with their aunt and uncle, a hotel in Ha Noi, at a friend’s house in Nha Trang, with their grandmother and grandfather.

+ How long they are going to stay:
- two days in Ha Long Bay
- three days in Ha Noi
- two days in Hue
- three days in Nha Trang
- a week in Ho Chi Minh City

+ What they are going to do:
- to visit Ha Long Bay
- to see Ngoe Son Temple
- to see the Citadel

Then ask and answer questions about the table with a partner. Sau đó hỏi đáp về bảng ghi chú trên đây với bạn mình.

c) Which place are they going to visit after Ha Noi?
They are going to visit Hue.
What are they going to see in Hue?
They are going to see the Citadel.
How long are they going to stay in Hue?
They are going to stay there for two days.

d) Where are they going after Hue?
They are going to visit Nha Trang.
Where are they going to stay in Nha Trang?
They are going to stay at a friend’s house.
How long are they going to stay in Nha Trang?
They are going to stay there for three days. 

e) Which place are they going to visit after Nha Trang?
They are going to visit Ho Chi Minh City.
Who are they going to stay with in Ho Chi Minh City?
They are going to stay with their grandmother and grandfather. 
How long are they going to stay there?
They are going to stay there for a week.

B. Free time plans. Kế hoạch cho thời gian rảnh.
1. Listen and repeat then practice with a partner. Nghe và lặp lại rồi luyện tập với bạn.

Tuan: What are you going to do tonight?
Bạn định sẽ làm gì tối nay?

Lan: I’m going to do my homework.
Tôi sẽ làm bài tập ở nhà.

Tuan: What are you going to do tomorrow?
Bạn sẽ làm gì ngày mai?

Lan: It is Sunday. I’m going to visit my friend. Then we’re going to see a movie. What about you?
Mai là Chủ nhật. Tôi sẽ đi thăm bạn tôi. Sau đó chúng tôi sẽ đi xem phim. Còn bạn thì sao?

Tuan: Tonight, I’m going to play badminton. Tomorrow, I’m going to watch a soccer match.
Tối nay tôi sẽ chơi cầu lông. Ngày mai, tôi sẽ xem một trận bóng đá.

2. Prepare two dialogues with a partner. Then write them in your exercise book. Soạn hai đoạn đối thoại với bạn. Sau đó viết chúng vào vở bài tập.

a) You: What are you going to do tonight? 
Partner: I’m going to see a movie.
You: What are you going to do tomorrow? 
Partner: I’m going to go walking.

b) You: What are you going to do tonight?
Partner: I’m going to help my mom with her housework. 
You: What are you going to do tomorrow?
Partner: I’m going to play volleyball.

3. Listen and read then practice with a partner. Nghe và đọc sau đó luyện tập với bạn.
 

Nga: Hi, Ba. What are you going to do at weekend?	Chào Ba. Bạn sẽ làm gi vào cuối tuần này?
Ba: I’m going to see a movie.	Tôi sẽ đi xem phim.
Nga: Which movie theatre?	ở rạp nào?
Ba: Sao Mai Movie Theatre.	Rạp Sao Mai.
Nga: What are you going to see?	Bạn sẽ xem phim gì?
Ba: Jurassic Park.	Công Vien Ki Jura.
Nga: Is it a good movie?	Phim này có hay không?
Ba: I don’t know.	Tôi không biết.

4. Answer then write the answers in your exercise book. Trả lời rồi viết các câu trả lời vào vở.

On Saturday morning, I’m going to do my homework.
On Saturday afternoon, I’m going to play soccer.
On Saturday evening, I’m going to see a movie.
On Sunday morning, I’m going to see a friend.
On Sunday afternoon. I’m going to go swimming.
On Sunday evening, I’m going to play some video games.

5. Listen and read. Nghe và đọc.
 

Minh and his friends are going to have a picnic near a lake. Nam is going to bring his camera. He is going to take some photos. Tuan is going to bring some foods. Minh is going to bring some drinks.

Minh và các bạn sắp đi chơi picnic gần một cái hồ. Nam sẽ mung theo máy ảnh. Cậu ấy sẽ chụp một số ảnh. Tuấn sẽ mang theo một số thức ăn. Minh sẽ mang theo một số thức uống.

Now, ask and answer. Bây giờ hãy hỏi và trả lời.

What is Minh going to do? – He’s going to bring some drinks.
What is Nam going to do?
- He’s going to bring his camera and take some photos.
What is Tuấn going to do? - He’s going to bring some foods.

6. Listen. Nghe.

Vui and four friends are planning a camping vacation. They are going to camp for three days. What are they going to bring?
Listen and match the names with the pictures.

Vui và bốn người bạn đang vạch kế hoạch cho một kì cắm trại. Họ sẽ cắm trại trong ba ngày. Họ sẽ mang theo những gì?

Then write sentences about the five girls.
Sau đó viết về năm cô gái.

C. Suggestions. Đề nghị. 
1. Listen and read the practice in groups. Nghe và đọc rồi luyện tập theo nhóm.

Ba: What are we going to do in the vacation? Chúng ta sẽ làm gì vào kì nghỉ hè?

Lan: Let’s go camping. Hãy đi cắm trại.

Nam: We don’t have a tent. What about going to Hue? Chúng ta không có lều bạt. Các bạn nghĩ sao vé việc đi Huế?

Nga: I don’t want to go to Hue? Why don’t we go to Huong Pagoda?  Tôi không muốn đi Huế. Tại sao chúng ta lại không đi Chùa Hương?

Ba: That’s a good idea. How are we going to travel? Ý kiến hay đấy. Chúng ta sẽ đi bằng phương tiện gì?

Lan: Let’s walk there. Hãy đi bộ đến đấy.

Nam: No, it’s too far. What about going by bike? Không, xa quá. Thế còn đi xe đạp thì sao?

Nga: No, it’s too hot. Không, trời nóng lắm.

Ba: Let’s go by minibus. Chúng ta hãy đi bằng xe buýt nhỏ.

Nam: Yes, good idea. Vâng, ý kiến rất hay.

2. Answer then write the answers in your exercise book. Trả lời rồi viết các câu trả lời vào vở bài tập.

a) What does Nam want to do? - He wants to go to Hue.
b) What does Nga want to do? - She wants to go to Hương Pagoda.
c) How does Lan want to travel? - She wants to walk.
d) Why doesn’t Nam want to walk? - Because it is too far.
e) How does he want to travel? - He wants to travel by bike.
f) Why doesn’t Nga want to go by bike? - Because it’s too hot.
g) How does Ba want to go? - He wants to go by minibus.

3. Look at the pictures. Work with a partner and make suggestions about them. Nhìn các hình vẽ. Luyện tập với bạn bằng cách đưa ra các đề nghị về các hình vẽ này. Dùng: Let’s ... , What about ...? , Why don’t we ...?
