1. Present simple tense. Thì hiện tại đơn.

How do you go to school? I go to school by bus.   How does he travel to Hà Nội? He travels by plane.	Do you walk to school? No, I don’t walk to school. Does she walk to school? Yes, she walks to school.

2) Present Progressive tense. Thì hiện tại tiếp diễn.

a) Minh is riding his bike. 
b) They are waiting for a bus. 
c) She is watching television. 
d) We are playing soccer. 
e) He is listening to music. 
f) They are walking to school. 
g) He is traveling to Hà Nội.

3. Prepositions - Giới từ.

Look at the foodstore. A girl is in the store. A boy is waiting in front of the store. There are mountains behind the store and some houses opposite it. There are some trees to the right of the store. There is a truck to the left of the store.

4. Question words. Các từ để hỏi.

a) Where is Lan going?         
She is going to the store.

b) Who is waiting for Lan?
Son is waiting for her.

c) What is Lan carrying?             
She is carrying a bag.   
       
d) What time is it?
 It is twelve o’clock. 

5. Contrast: present simple and present Progressive tenses. Đối chiếu: thì hiện tại đơn và thì hiện tại tiếp diễn.

a) (play) They play volleyball every day.
They are playing volleyball now.

b) (ride) She rides her bike to school.
She is riding her bike now.

c) (travel) We travel to school by bus.
We are traveling to school by bus today.

d) (walk) I walk to school every day.
I am walking to school now.

e) (drive) He drives his truck.
He is driving his truck at the moment.

6. must and must not.

a) At an intersection you must slow down.
You must not go fast.

b) Here, you must turn left.
You must not turn right.
You must not go straight on.

c) Here, you must stop.
You must not go straight on.

7. can and cannot/can’t.
